The Origins of Santa Claus

Join popular speaker Michael Ferri, of the Island County Historical Museum to learn the origins of Santa Claus: tracing his family tree from earliest times to the present. Michael will bring to light the many myths that have been blended together to create this beloved holiday icon and show how Santa came to America. The talk includes a slide show and a sharing of the many traditions that come together to create the figure that we know and love today. Michael has been a member of the ICHS Museum for more than 15 years, and has most recently served as the president of the board for many years.
